A 40 something single man, high on life, find out that he has a 21 years old daughter. Not just that she is also pregnant. Will he rise up to the occasion or live his free spirited life in denial.
'Kya mai lagta hoon unhappy married types?' asks Jazz to a 21 years old Tia.Minutes later she drops bomb on him revealing that there is a 33.3% chances that he is her father.
Director Nitin wastes no time unraveling this quirky plot much of which is revealed in the promo, but the film still has it's moments. The snappy first half is quite a riot as we are introduced to Jazz's uber cool life. It is marked by wild partying and hooking up with girls half his age.
The film is highly entertaining in the first half but the pase drops in the second half as it meanders towards predictable and slightly peachy parts. This movie is a contemporary story that showcases complex human relationships with all its quirks, firmly in place.

This movie shows the importance of family. Acting was superb, it tells that a enjoyable person in his life, how he reacts when he knows that he has one daughter and saif did a great job. The person accepts her daughter without thinking about society. The movie shows the real value of ethics. Saif did good by not allowing them to cut the tree in his one deal. These movie shows that a person's emotions are real and we should respect them. Overall good entertainment movie which can be seen with family. Hope to see such good movie next time.

A beautiful movie that depicts human relationship and value of family. A person may try to be young forever but someday he or she has to accept the truth of growing old enjoying the company of younger ones. That's the beauty of life. Saif has always been a star in these scripts. Performance that deserves applause. Tabu and other supportive cast is just perfect. Amazing'debut by Alya.. doesn't seem like a debut. Kudos to the director for directing it so nicely. Quirky dialogues fun packs as well as the emotional quotient makes the movie a good watch:)

Jawaani Janeman Light Hearted Classy & Breezy One Time Entertainer The film has an urban touch of an entertainer with quirky one liners and funny situational comedy which stands out genuine and natural that will tickle your funny bone and at the end in a very subtle manner it delivers a wonderful message about the importance of family. Cast is wonderful and the comic timing is impeccable , the way how a casanova transforms to a responsible person is very well portrayed. What falls short for the film is the story line that could still be better and the pace in the 2nd half seems quite slow until a point. Overall a colorful fun film that you will enjoy watching in the cinemas. Mulltiplez audience will enjoy this brezzy light hearted comedy THINGS TO LOOK OUT FOR >The unique plot of the film in itself is fun and keeps you curious at the start so as what would happen >Comedy is pure and genuinely natural ,so you laugh from your heart , there are no forced comrdy scenes its just raw comedy tats fun >The Complete Cast starting from the Debut Actress Aalya F to Saif Ali Khan , Tabu , Kumid Mishra all have done a fantastic job and the comic timing is commendable >The film is very youthful urban and colorful >The Locations are mesmerizing and the Cinematographer has done a great Job >Dialouges and oneliners are quirky and funny to its best >The film message thats delivered without being preachy is something to look out for NEGATIVES >2nd half could have been still better as the pace decreased until a point and gets a bit slow >Story is unique but still could have been even more better specially post interval the spark decreases a bit >Songs & Music could have been better for a colorful and youthful film like this one FINAL VERDICT Its a fun entertainer that will make you laugh out loud in the cinemas , go for it in the cinemas for a light hearted fun film all together

Saif Ali Khan is completely in his element and entertains thoroughly. Such kind of a role suits him to the T and he constantly tries to rise above the script. Alaya F makes an excellent debut and puts up a confident act. She looks gorgeous and is the only actor who moves viewers to an extent. She has a promising career ahead. Tabu has a late entry but raises loads of laughs. But her character has no emotional arc. Chunky Panday (Rocky) doesn’t have much to do initially. He has a crucial scene in the second half in the hospital but it doesn’t work. Kubbra Sait is adorable and one wishes to see more of her. Kumud Mishra is dependable. Kiku Sharda is funny. Dante Alexander (Rohan) is over the top, as per the character’s requirement. Rameet Sandhu (Tanvi) leaves a mark. Farida Jalal (Jazz’s mother), Shivendra Singh Mahal (Jazz’s father) and Diljohn Singh (Grover) are okay. On the whole, JAWAANI JAANEMAN boasts of fine performances by Saif Ali Khan and newcomer Alaya F. But the direction is weak and emotionally, the film doesn’t work. At the box office, it will be a tough ride for the flick considering the lack of buzz.

Jawaani Jaaneman banks heavily on its star cast. Saif Ali Khan is delightful to watch on the screen in his age-old avatar. He will definitely make you fall in love with him all over again. Tabu appears only for a few minutes but, like always, she leaves a mark. The film is largely focused on Saif but it is Alaya who will steal your heart. She is just a natural in front of the camera. With other new-age actors like Sara Ali Khan, Janhvi Kapoor and Ananya Panday in line, she came prepared and it paid off. Though Jawaani Jaaneman is backed by strong performances, it couldn't make the film memorable. It suffers from a slow-paced predictable plot and patchy editing. How many club scenes does one need to establish that its lead character is a party animal? Jawaani Jaaneman has just too many. The writing isn't sharp either. It tries to address important issues in the garb of comedy, but the jokes just aren't funny enough. "Tera dil nahi dildo hai," "Iss ghar mein main aur mera swag rehte hai" - come on, it takes more to make us laugh. Apart from these few glitches Jawaani Jaaneman makes for a decent one-time watch. Saif's fans, it's a must for you guys though.

Jawaani Jaaneman is a time pass entertainer, on the lines of Hollywood light-hearted films. The film has some nice funny moments that keep the interest going. A few developments are really unexpected and are well written and executed. On the flip side, emotionally, the film doesn't work to the desired level. Some scenes in the second half, that are supposed to be moving, are unconvincing. Also, though the film keeps one gripped, it never really goes on a high. The performances are excellent, especially by Saif Ali Khan and Alaya F. Saif can pull off any role effortlessly and this is a space where is the master. He's a pleasure to watch on screen and it's nice to see how he communicates a lot through his eyes and expressions. Alaya F makes a confident debut and rocks the show. She has a bright future and here's hoping she signs some well written films. Kubbra Sait is quite adorable and one wishes to see more of her. Chunky Panday is okay but Kumud Mishra is in his element. Tabu has a late entry and her role can be called as an extended special appearance. She raises laughs but one wishes if her character has contributed to the film's emotional quotient too. Finally, Dante Alexander (Alaya's boyfried) is funny. All in all, it is a decent one-time watch.

An honest take on the film Movie is very relatable, you do see real life characters like Saif who cannot come to terms with aging and often lock themselves in their college era. Saif has acted well and was best suited for the role. But what has surprised me rather pleasantly is Alaya F. Its hard to believe its her Debut. She acted very well and not once went over the top. She got a certain maturity to the character. She is definitely here to stay! Story like any Hollywood flick could have been 30 mins shorter, in bits it did drag. But overall it's a feel good movie. Kubra sait was fab too! Music is superb. Some peppy remixes and the soft song of father-daughter is my favourite already. Final word! Go for it. very rarely you find characters you can relate to..this one does that.

Jawaani Jaaneman is a bright and happy film. It is eminently watchable for the most part, not the least because the dialogues (by Hussain Dalal and Abbas Dalal) are free-flowing and witty. When an actress of Tabu's calibre says "he needs meditation" with just the right degree of all-knowing insouciance, you believe her.Jazz is right up Saif Ali Khan's street - he pulls off a remarkable star turn without breaking a sweat. Kubbra Sait, playing the firm-as-a-flagpole Rhea, strikes the right notes. The brightest spark in Jawaani Jaanemanis Alaya Furniturewalla. When you watch a young actress having fun before the camera rather than striving to prove herself, you instantly know that she's one confident performer. She has the chops. Saif will draw you into Jawaani Jaaneman. Alaya will keep you glued even when the pace of the film seems to flag a bit.

Saif nailed it, he was top notch from the beginning till the end in each and every scene. Debutant Alaya was too good. Tabu's role could have written better. The good thing about Jaawani Jaaneman is, it's a movie where there are no intimate scenes, no vulgarity, no cheap dialogues - an absolute clean movie.Do not miss the chance to watch this film on the Big screen

Didn't expect the movie to be that much impactful from the trailer, but it has certainly been a very fresh movie to watch. Alaya F and Saif, both have done a brilliant work in acting. Saif has got altogether a different role to play in this, while the newcomer Alaya has enact all the emotions so beautifully. All in all, a very light-weight movie with strong acting. You'll come out of the theatres with a smile.

Ranjith posted a review for Jawaani Jaaneman in Movies
A commitment-phobic, unmarried middle-aged Punjabi man in London misreads a nightclub pick up. After a routine of drinking, dancing and meaningless hook-ups, Jazz (Saif Ali Khan) meets his match in an uber-confident Tia (Alaya F). While he sets his apartment to seduction mode (mirror ball, mood lighting, and white wine), she has other things on her mind. Jawaani Jaaneman movie review: Saif Ali Khan takes jibes at middle age head on, Alaya F makes assured debut The girl with a wide smile and endless enthusiasm reveals there is a 33.33 percent chance he is her estranged father. Director Nitin Kakkar’s love story follows all the beats of a basic romantic comedy, except that the love is paternal. Although crediting Argentinian feature Igaulita A Mi, writers Hussain Dalal and Abbas Dalal mash up other films from the genre. Among them, Mama Mia, where a Bohemian mother (Meryl Streep, replaced by Tabu) reveals any one of three men could be her daughter’s father. In Jawaani Jaaneman, a DNA test will establish whether 21-year-old Tia’s gamble of coming from Amsterdam to London in search of her father has paid off. As the doctor with the DNA test results, Kiku Sharda ups the tempo in a comedy that depends wholly on Saif Ali Khan. It turns out to be a buy-one-get-one-free result. Not only does Jazz discover he is a father, but that he is going to become a grandfather too. Unwilling to compromise on his carefully curated minimalist (he appears to have only two friends, and a limited wardrobe of rock band fan T-shirts) yet hedonistic life, Jazz gently but firmly pushes Tia away, pregnancy and all. Whenever he recovers from his hangover, he focuses on his day job as a real estate broker. Soaking in alcohol and barely bothering to remember the name of his hook-ups is the cloak Jazz wears to mask loneliness. In all this, Tia is getting on with her life while lurking on the periphery of Jazz’s life. Khan has played the party-loving, commitment-shy urban young man several times. This time, he takes on an age-appropriate role, where that same fellow from Salaam Namaste and Cocktail is now dying his hair, coming to terms with a mid-life crisis while holding on to a colourful past. His enduring relationships are with his brother and business partner Dimpy (Kumud Mishra), nightclub owner buddy Rocky (Chunky Pandey, unable to shake off Aakhri Pasta’s accent from the Housefull franchise even as a Londoner), and hairstylist (Kubbra Sait). Khan is charming and funny, and takes the jokes about middle age head on. It is a role tailor-made for him, and he plays it with glee. Alaya makes an assured debut. She gets a finely written character. It is refreshing to see an emancipated Indian girl living her life without fearing judgment, and Alaya manages to convey Tia’s longing as well as her self-belief. Tabu injects energy into the latter scenes as Tia’s new-age mother who curls up her nose as she senses bad energy in Jazz’s apartment. One feels cheated for seeing her in a short parody role but Tabu is a hoot, and does not waste a moment. A side-plot about a housing redevelopment project does not fit in smoothly but otherwise, Kakkar steers clear of chest-thumping melodrama and old-school moralising. The content is mostly flippant with a few meaningful moments punctuating an easy-breezy coming-of-age story about a modern Indian family.

Sai posted a review for Jawaani Jaaneman in Movies
Noted director Nitin Kakkar who previously directed films like Filmistan and Notebook has teamed up with Saif Ali Khan for his come of new age film Jawaani Jaaneman. Saif, who is off form lately and whose only hit picture in the past few years is Tanhaji in which he play a villain has given his best in this picture as 40 year old dad. Though the line of this cinema may seem similar to Ajay Devgn's recent hit De De Payar De they have nothing in common except for a father enjoying his life leaving his family and never minding their business. Debutant Alaya plays the role of Saif's daughter but she gave such an amazing performance that makes it hard to believe that she is a debutant. Tabu has given her best in the role of a separated mother. Though the lead cast given their best lack of emotional connect and uneven direction make this movie a bit boring. Director tried to run this movie via comedy instead of the emotional factor. Music suits the mood of the film with some fine cinematography. You can give this movie a chance in the theatre.

Saif has always been a natural at playing the suave and urbane kinds with the right dose of sophistication. He also brings out the vulnerability of his character despite his unhinged ways. Debutante Alaya Thankfully, her character and her performance are minus the melodrama and the theatrics, leaving you with emotional, but several light-hearted moments . Watching Tabu as a spiritually empowered hippy is quite refreshing, but the talented actress barely has any screen time or real purpose in the narrative. While Saif and Tabu come together after a long time, but here, they barely share any memorable moments. Among the supporting cast, actress Kubbra Sait has a stunning screen presence. Her character of a young divorced woman looking for a mature relationship is bound to resonate with many. Farida Jalal, Chunky Panday and Kumud Mishra also lend good support

Jawaani Jaaneman is a performance driven film and it is Saif and Alaya who drives the film with impeccable acting. Saif Ali Khan has the perfect sense of comic timing (if you have liked him in Hum Tum and Salaam Namaste, you will love him). Alaya shows confident in her very first film and if she chooses good script, can go a long way. Tabu shines in a small role while Kumud Mishra, Farida Jalal and Kubbra Sait are dependable.

I loved this movie. The acting and plot were amazing. Honestly, hadn't expected after watching the trailer that the story could be so interesting. The medium of catharsis experienced by Aman Khanna and thus giving up his love for freedom for the love of daughter is not outdated or snobby. But very realistic and psychological. His daughter's baby is what pulls the father and daughter towards each other. Very different from all the usual family dramas. Superb casting, acting, direction.Wonderful use of songs.

Typical Hollywood inspired rom-com with unusual storyline which doesn't suit indian lifestyle. This kind of films only work for multiplex audience but Jawani jaaneman fails in that too. Boring story with good performances make this an average time pass flick. Visuals are okay but they should have tried for authentic indian lifestyle for this film instead of western influence.

Jawaani Jaaneman isn't a new story but the narration was new and a treat to watch. Saif plays Jazz a fun loving person and oh God! Aliya F is such a talented actress. But it's Saif who stole the entire show. His acting was fresh and lately even his script selections have been great like Laap kaaptan etc. Tabu gave a decent performance and music was catchy and refreshing too. Well frankly speaking there were no expectations from this Saif & Tabu starrer movie. We were just roaming in inorbit mall last evening & thought to give it a try considering the freshness of story line. Would like to start from the fresh face - Alaya F. She is quite notorious in the movie, acting skills are good and must admit she leaves a impression with her debut role. Saif & Tabu obviously have nailed it! All together we can expect some good comedy moments throughout the movie which keeps the tempo moving. Its worth a watch and you would not be bored.

Jawaani Jaaneman is not just a comedy flick, but it has heart felt emotions, a nice fresh story, wonderful message, told in a rather lighter way! The best part of this enjoyable film is the starcast for sure, as each and everyone is perfectly suited for the role they're playing. However, Saif, the highly underrated actor, just blows your mind with his cool acting skills. He's at his best in both the hilarious scenes and serious ones. It's so delightful to watch him on screen! Well, what can I say about this young cute kid, the debutante Alaya? All I want to write here is God bless her with more and more films in Bollywood. She just shines in her part with such a natural performance. Kudos also to her boldness for choosing to play this character in her very first movie, which some other girls of her age would've hesitated to do. Don't get it? I just don't want to spoil it for you. Just watch the film and you'll agree with me!
